We all know the pass percentages of CA exams and we are all aware of the probabilities that a particular can pass all the 3 levels in the first attempt. But are we cognizant of the mental state of those who are not able to clear CA exams in their first attempt? How can someone bounce back from that emotional low? Let's talk about this in more detail...
What is failure? It is only a learning for the future. You still do not believe me? Let me tell you a small story I am sure you must have read but forgotten.
I am sure you recognize this man - Thomas Alva Edison. His teachers told his mother that he was too stupid to learn anything. Edison was fired from his first 2 jobs for not being productive. As an inventor, Edison failed 1000 times at inventing the light bulb. But look at the positivity of the man, he always maintained - "I haven't failed. I just found 1000 ways that won't work. The light bulb was an invention with 1000 steps"
Now look at yourself. The story I shared above is not something you have never read or heard. But the problem is - we fail to apply our learnings when it is the most opportune time to apply them.
So what if you have failed in CA exams? It is not the end of life. Yes, CA is not an easy course to crack in the first attempt for most students, but is it the sole criterion on the basis of which you should judge yourself?
Look at your parents. They are the only two human beings on this planet who can do anything to see you smiling and happy. But will they be happy when you would go to them and say "I cannot do it"? Of course, not. That is the point I want to drive home. First of all, remove all those thoughts of quitting CA.
Treat failure as a positive event in your life. It has given you the experience of appearing for the CA exams and knowing the reasons why people fail in CA exams. Hasn't it made you richer? It is said nothing is more valuable in life than experience. So now it is the time to analyze where you went wrong and correct those shortcomings before the next attempt.
Remember those days when you had just joined CA? Didn't you dream of having yourself called "CA xxx xxx"? What happened to those dreams? Those dreams haven't gone anywhere. They are still there in some part of your brain. The only thing that needs to be done is to revive those dreams again, because hard work and a correct approach can help realize any dream. And that will also help you realize that you can overcome all failures if you are determined to do so.
Remember YOU are the author of the story of your life. If you are determined enough, you can bounce back from any situation. If you haven't read it already, read about Kapil Dev's knock of 175 not out in the 1983 World Cup match against Zimbabwe. That came when India was reeling at 5 wickets down for just 17 runs. Nothing is impossible if you are determined to turn things around.
So get up and wipe all your tears aside. It is time to resolve and be determined to crack CA come what may. The last thing your loved ones would want to see is you giving up without a fight. 6 months won't matter much in the long run. It is just that destiny had some other plans, maybe something better!
Thanks for reading and I hope you are feeling much more positive now. Do let me know about any feedback you may have on this article.
